Israel bombs Gaza homes; intercepts last flotilla boat

At least 72 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn, including 42 in Gaza City alone, according to medical sources speaking to Al Jazeera.
Israel’s army is using remote-controlled vehicles packed with explosives to demolish entire neighbourhoods in besieged Gaza City after issuing a “last chance” to leave warning to hundreds of thousands of trapped Palestinians.

Trump’s ultimatum to Hamas reflects Netanyahu talking points
Andrea Dessi, a professor at the American University of Rome, notes that the US president’s social media post – giving Hamas a Sunday deadline to respond to his Gaza plan – includes several false claims promoted by Israel.
That includes the falsehood that more than 25,000 Hamas fighters have been killed since Israel began its war on the Strip – “an inflated figure, to say the least”, Dessi said – and a call for Palestinians to move to so-called “safer” parts of the enclave.
“We know from the United Nations, there is no safe place in Gaza,” Dessi told Al Jazeera.
He added that while Trump’s plan is being presented as a way to halt Israel’s attacks on Gaza, “it is also true that we cannot be in a position of rewarding the perpetrator of a genocide.”
That means more details on oversight, implementation and assurances are needed in relation to the US proposal, Dessi said. “We are very far away from a detailed plan that I believe Hamas will be able to give a positive response [to].”
