Hande Ercel, Hakan Sabanci among names in Turkey’s drug probe
An arrest warrant was issued against Turkish actress and model Hande Erçel after being listed in the drug-related investigation in Turkey.
Haberler reported that a detention order was issued against 16 people, including former Galatasaray president Burak Elmas, former Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman, Hakan Sabancı, Kerim Sabancı, Didem Soydan, Güzide Duran, and Hande Erçel.
14 of the suspects were detained. However, some Turkish media reported that Hande Erçel could not be detained because she was abroad, and she will be arrested at the airport if she returns to Turkey.
In mid-February, Turkish police detained actor Ismail Hacıoğlu as part of the drug investigation targeting celebrities.

Turkey’s drug operation:
Since October 2025, the police have carried out a number of operations in the drug probe conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against celebrities, musicians, managers, and many well-known figures. Until now, 26 people have been arrested within the scope of the investigation.
The investigations include “manufacturing and trafficking of narcotic substances,” “providing special places, equipment, or materials to facilitate the use of narcotic or stimulant substances and taking measures to make it difficult for users to be caught,” “purchasing, accepting, or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances for use,” “using narcotic or stimulant substances,” in addition to “promoting and facilitating prostitution”.
