France announces partial curfew, ban on protests in Paris on Monday

France imposed a partial curfew and banned demonstrations in parts of Paris on Monday, police said, as the government sought to restore order after some of the worst street violence in years.
The Paris police prefecture said the partial curfew would be in effect from 11:00 p.m. (2100 GMT) on Monday until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday in several neighborhoods of the French capital.
Demonstrations were also banned in several Paris neighborhoods from 8:00 p.m. on Monday until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
France also announced partial curfews in several northern cities for Monday and Tuesday nights.
According to the office of Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu, partial curfews were to be imposed from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (1800 to 0400 GMT) those two days in four northern cities, including Lille.
