Famous Iraqi TikToker Aya Al-Yabani dies during plastic surgery

A famous Iraqi TikToker named Aya Al-Yabani recently made headlines due to passing away while undergoing plastic surgery for her hip. Comments about her passing swarmed social media with users expressing their shock and debating the dangers of plastic surgery and its possible addiction down the line. 

According to several local sources, the Iraqi influencer was only 26 years old when she underwent hip surgery on Jan. 12, 2024, and her passing was due to undergoing too many plastic surgery operations reportedly resulting in further health concerns.

While many users on social media offered their condolences through heartfelt comments across several platforms including Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, some showcased concern due to the rise of plastic surgery operations in Iraq, especially among internet personalities and influencers such as Aya Al-Yabani.

Before passing away, Aya had quite a following on the Chinese video-sharing platform TikTok as she garnered more than 38,000 followers and at least 68,000 likes.

While her name is Aya, “Al-Yabani” (Japanese in Arabic) was an internet nickname she used due to people likening her eyes to Japanese people.
