Esra Bilgic in talks for lead role in Turkish adaptation of Lebanese series “Al-Hayba,”
Article: According to rumors, Esra Bilgiç was offered the lead role in the Turkish adaptation of the Lebanese series “Al-Hayba” when the Turkish production company “Ay Yapım” decided to accelerate the project.
Çatay, the company’s producer, and Esra are now in talks for her to portray “Alia” in the Turkish version of the series. The public is eagerly awaiting the introduction of the project, and reports suggest that Esra was quite pleased with it. Her approval serves as proof of this.
Some Turkish news outlets have reported that Ibrahim Çelikkol, who was recently spotted enjoying a holiday in Bodrum, was being considered for the main part in the Turkish adaptation of the series “Al-Hayba” by the producers of Ay Yapım. Çelikkol has not yet addressed the rumors.
Despite many delays, work on the long-awaited Lebanese series “Al-Hayba” has begun at the Turkish production company. This series tells the story of a family living in a border village between Lebanon and Syria and involved in smuggling weapons. Reporter Birsen Altuntaş states that the firm changed its name from “Al-Asifa” to honor the Albora family’s history.
Notably, Gülzar Irmak—famous for penning several series such as “Through Time,” “Name Me Hijran,” “Shepherd’s Star,” and “Omar”—will be serving as the screenwriter for the Mardin-based set.
The series, directed by Ahmed Katksiz, known for “Suspicious Love,” “Flame,” and “Family,” will feature a fierce battle between the Bora and Baybars families. This has sparked discussions among social media users, especially the Arab audience, about who will play key roles such as Tim Hassan (Jabal Sheikh Al-Jabal) and Alia, originally played by Nadine Njeim in the first season, as well as other prominent characters like Nahid Omran (Jabal’s mother), Sakhr (Jabal’s brother), and Shaheen (Jabal’s cousin).
