Did Amber Heard change names and move countries amid Johnny Depp trial?

Rumor has it that controversial American actress Amber Heard reportedly changed her name and moved countries amid her trial against actor and ex-husband Jonny Depp, according to Lad Bible.

Jonny Depp’s defamation case against Heard was considered one of the most talked about on social media and news outlets alike in 2022. It all started when Amber Heard wrongfully accused Depp of physically and sexually abusing her on multiple occasions during their relationship together.

The former couple seemed to have hit it off in 2009, and years down the line got married in 2015. This didn’t last long as two years later they filed for divorce and it was never the same after that.

In 2018, Amber Heard wrote an article in the Washington Post saying “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” But she didn’t mention Depp by name, according to Lad Bible.

After becoming the talk of the internet, the trial in question received a Netflix documentary by Channel 4 named “Depp v Heard” and apparently, it’s still one of the top-watched programmes on Netflix in the UK.

The trial ended with Depp as victor where he received $15 million by Judge Penny Azcarate but was later capped at $10.35 million due to taxes.

On the other hand, Heard accumulated $2 million in “damages.”

Where did Amber Heard move to and what’s her name now?

Heard was reportedly spotted in Mallorca, Spain with the reason of starting a new life with her daughter. Moreover, media outlet El Diario de Mallorca also reported that she changed her name to Martha Jane Cannary.

The outlet added, “The choice of this identity, which appears at the entrance of her new Mallorcan home, draws much attention.”

According to Lad Bible, Heard appears to be fluent in Spanish and confirmed to reporters that she’s loving her life in Spain. When asked about the country she replied, “I love Spain so much.”

Heard also added when asked if she’s staying in Spain, “Yes, I hope so.”
