Chris Brown charged over London club attack, faces UK court in June

Chris Brown, an R&B musician, has been charged with assaulting a guy in a nightclub and has appeared in court.

On Thursday, the American singer was taken into custody at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. Subsequently, he was charged with the alleged assault that took place at the Tape club in Mayfair, London, in the year 2023.

The allegations against Brown, who is 36 years old, include the use of a bottle to inflict severe physical harm on music producer Abe Diaw.

In preparation for his tour of the United Kingdom, which was scheduled to take place in June and July, the singer was in Manchester. He was scheduled to perform at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester as well as the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Brown, who was dressed in black tracksuit bottoms and a simple t-shirt, made a statement during the hearing to verify his complete identity, which is Christopher Maurice Brown, as well as his date of birth.

In response to a question about his address, he stated that it was The Lowry Hotel.

Brown was informed by District Judge Joanne Hirst that the matter will be transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London, and the subsequent hearing is scheduled to take place on June 13th.

According to her, the nature of the crime of grievous bodily harm was so severe that it could not be handled by a magistrates’ court.

Brown was remanded in detention since he did not submit a plea on his behalf.

As the hearing was about to begin, supporters gathered in front of the Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

The BBC was informed by a fan who resides in Manchester that she had canceled her plans in order to spend the day outside of the court.

According to Candy, who is 35 years old, she has been a fan of the celebrity ever since she was 14 years old, and when she learned of his imprisonment, she was unable to sleep.

“I’m just here to support him,” she said.

“I love his music, his voice. I think he could have been the next MJ. Even my children are fans now.”
