Canada and other nations condemn reports of violence in Sudan

Canada, Norway, Australia and other nations on Monday said they were gravely alarmed by reports of systematic and ongoing violence against civilians in Sudan, where the Rapid Support Forces group has been fighting the Sudanese army.
“We condemn all atrocities in the strongest possible terms and demand that the violence stops immediately,” they said in a joint statement.
Civilians in the city of al-Fashir were shot in the streets, targeted in drone strikes and crushed by trucks, witnesses to the first days of the RSF’s takeover said.
