With the 2024 Cannes Film Festival already here, one of the world’s most prestigious festivals is packing tons of things to look forward to including movies, artists, and events. The 77th edition of the festival started on Monday, May 13, and will run all the way till May 25.

Mad Max is back with a prequel to the excellent Fury Road movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy!

Similar to its predecessor, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year so get ready for an action-packed thriller set in one of the best and most unique universes in the entertainment industry.

Fury Road premiered at the festival in question 2015.

Megalopolis

Get ready to experience an epic sci-fi story starring an insane cast including Shia LaBeouf, Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, and many more!

Megalopolis will be Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project as he’s behind directing and publishing it. It will tell the story of an architect who wants to rebuild New York City into a utopia but things don’t go as planned.

Fun fact, according to IMDB, Francis Ford  first wrote Megapolis in the early 1980s but the film was kept off production due to financial issues,

The Apprentice will cover the story of young ex-US President Donald Trump played by Sebastian Stan in the 70s and 80s. Moreover, it will cover events from his real estate journey with the addition of the infamous lawyer Roy Cohn played by the excellent Succession star Jeremy Strong.

In many people’s eyes, this is the most anticipated event a the Cannes Film Festival, and this year, it will be Greta Gerwig tasked with the difficult job of choosing this year’s winner which will be revealed on May 25, 2024.

Other awards at the festival will include Grand Prix, the Prix de la mise en scène, the Prix du scénario, the Prix du jury, and the Prix d’interprétation féminine et masculine.

Rumours “What the Fu** is that?”

Probably the most “Unique” movie to premiere at the festival as seen from the big brain in the picture above. Rumours is a dark comedy coming from Canadian director  Guy Maddin. The movie is definitely up there on the “most-anticipated” movies to look up to at the Cannes Film Festival.

It will tell the story of seven rich democrats who lose their way into the woods while talking about the global crisis but find themselves on a journey to escape weird and dangerous situations.
