Ana De Armas says the John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, will be releasing a trailer soon

The star of the John Wick spin-off Ballerina, Ana De Armas, says extensive reshoots will result in the release of footage.

While at TIFF, Ana De Armas chatted with Collider about her next picture, Eden, which is directed by Ron Howard.

She drops hints about the action flick that stars Keanu Reeves and Lance Reddick in cameo appearances. As Ana De Armas clarified,

CinemaCon had already shown a teaser in the spring.

Like Keanu Reeves in the Wick movies, Ana De Armas did mixed martial arts and gunplay in the teaser. The battle scenes in Ballerina, on the other hand, are noticeably different from those in the Wick films. They seem “more feral and less polished” in this setting. Some have even called it “insanely violent.” It is already known that Reeves makes a cameo appearance, although the teaser only shows him in a stinger role.

It was a lengthy road for the spin-off. The Continental later altered the spin-off, originally set in a universe unrelated to the John Wick series.

Reshoots, or “new shoots,” as Ian McShane, star of the Wick series put it, would also be part of the production. McShane revealed that they brought in Chad Stahelski to “protect the franchise.” “You know, it’s like, they gotta protect the franchise,” he said during an interview. They completed the process approximately a year ago. After examining it, Chad entered the room. Furthermore, they are eager to improve it, as protecting the brand is their top priority.

Ana de Armas portrays a young woman with deadly skills in the film Ballerina, following the murder of her family by hitmen. Ian McShane plays Winston, the owner of the Continental Hotel; the late Lance Reddick plays Charon, the Continental’s concierge; and Anjelica Huston plays the Director, the head of the Ruska Roma. Several franchise characters will make appearances in the film because it takes place in the John Wick universe. Unknown parts, including Norman Reedus, Gabriel Bryne, and Catalina Sandino Moreno, will also be in the film.
