America has lost its credibility in peace process as search for new mediators become necessary
30 years of American mediation in the peace process in the Middle East resulted in an increase in the level of settlements, the increase in the displacement of Palestinians, the Judaization of Jerusalem and the turning of the page on the two-state solution.
The United States, which is supposed to be an impartial mediator in the peace process, has used the right of veto 45 times, including 17 times since the signing of the Oslo peace agreement in 1993, in favor of Israel, one of the parties to the conflict against the other, and this indicates the extent of the bias practiced by the mediator.
And with the flow of statements of extremism and fascism by members of the Israeli government, and the violent practices that call for it, whether in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque or the prisoners, or the siege and its intensification, leading to the burning of Palestinian villages and cities and the field execution of Palestinians, the United States, the only mediator, did not move a finger and did not prevent these practices and contented itself with cold condemnations It was camouflaged for fear of angering the Israeli protégé and its extremist ally in the region
Since the era of Donald Trump in the White House a few years ago, the United States has announced that it is not freeing itself from what it described as “the problems of the region” and that it is heading to confront China and Russia. It sees Taiwan and Ukraine as its main problems that threaten its security and international standing.
However, with this preoccupation, and in light of the Palestinian leadership’s declaration of its lack of confidence with the Americans, it has become urgent to have international intervention and other full-time mediators interested in the region, which brings the vision back to the year 2002 when the Quartet was established, which was formed at the initiative of the Spanish King Juan Carlos of the United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations to meet the escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
The United States subsequently worked to neutralize the mediators, control the committee, and marginalize the rest of the members for fear of condemning Israel, noting that all members were described as honest and adherent to the Palestinian right, except for the United States, which remained supportive of extremism and Israeli aggression.
It is clear that the United States neutralized the parties participating in the International Quartet and took the decision alone after the Russian delegation showed its support for Palestinian rights, based on the decisions of international legitimacy, which call for the return of refugees, the end of settlements, the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the rejection of Judaization.
It is necessary for that committee to return, or at least for neutral mediators to intervene to implement international legitimacy in the Middle East and the Palestinian territories, after Israel, with the support and conspiracy of the American mediator, blew up all Palestinian rights and turned the region into a mass of flame and a volcano that erupts at any moment.
