Saudi-led coalition says it targeted resources used by Houthis in Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on Sunday it had carried out a military operation targeting resources used by the Iran-backed Houthi militia to support its war effort.

Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said the operation was conducted on Sunday morning in response to continued Houthi attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Al-Maliki accused the Houthis of using vital resources to support their war effort and bolster their military capabilities, particularly ballistic missiles and drones.

He said the coalition had carried out a targeted military operation to neutralize resources used by the Houthis to launch repeated attacks and threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and Yemen, as well as shipping routes in the southern Red Sea.

Al-Maliki said the coalition would continue taking the necessary military measures to deter Houthi attacks and prevent the militia from using vital resources to support its war effort.

He also called on the Houthis to halt attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, warning that the militia would bear responsibility for the consequences if such attacks continued.
