Saudi air defenses intercept two Houthi ballistic missiles targeting Riyadh

Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia toward the capital Riyadh, the Saudi-led coalition said on Thursday.

“Air defenses intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward Riyadh,” coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Malki said in a post on X.

The latest incident comes amid repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, including the capital and other major cities.

On Tuesday, Saudi Civil Defense reported that debris from two intercepted Houthi ballistic missiles fell in Riyadh, damaging a building, a construction site and a vehicle.

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly condemned the attacks as violations of its sovereignty and reaffirmed its right to defend its territory, citizens and residents.
