Mercan Köşk to end with episode 7: When is the finale?
ATV’s new drama Mercan Köşk will reportedly come to an early end with its seventh episode after failing to meet expectations in the ratings.
The latest decision adds another title to the growing list of early finales in the 2026–27 Turkish TV season. Following A.B.İ. and Aşk ve Taht, Mercan Köşk has now become another ATV production to receive a finale decision.
According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş, the series, produced by Faro and Sinehane, will say goodbye to viewers with episode 7. The drama was filmed in Tarsus and had struggled to deliver the audience figures expected from it.
Mercan Köşk Started With Strong Expectations
Mercan Köşk premiered on ATV on September 5, bringing together Kubilay Aka, Hafsanur Sancaktutan and Bertan Asllani in the leading roles.
The story follows Cemre, whose life changes after her husband Asil mysteriously disappears shortly after their wedding. Her search for answers takes her to Tarsus, where she becomes involved with the Mercandağ and Hozan families and their long-standing conflicts.
Her path eventually crosses with Aras, played by Kubilay Aka, as old secrets, family rivalries and unresolved issues begin to surface.
The cast also includes Mehmet Özgür, Zeyno Eracar, Ulviye Karaca, Tülin Özen, Halil Babür, Haki Biçici, Can Bartu Aslan, Zehra Kelleci, Merve Şeyma Zengin, Selin Köseoğlu and Berna Cındıl.
Yahya Samancı directed the series, while its story came from Ahunur Serdaroğlu. The screenplay was written by Serdaroğlu alongside Atilla Özel, Nalan Merter Savaş and Nuriye Bilici. Music for the production was composed by Toygar Işıklı.
Ratings Put Pressure on the Series
The ratings became a problem relatively early in the series’ run.
The premiere recorded a 2.78 rating in the Total category, placing Mercan Köşk second that night. It also scored 1.86 in AB and 2.33 in ABC1.
The series reached 3.00 in Total for its second episode but then fell to 2.74 for episode 3. By episode 4, it had dropped to sixth place in the Total category.
The fifth episode, broadcast on October 3, also struggled, further increasing speculation about the show’s future.
Cast Previously Denied the Finale Rumors
Interestingly, the final decision comes after members of the cast had recently pushed back against reports that Mercan Köşk was about to end.
Mehmet Özgür, who plays Esved, addressed viewers in a video earlier this month. He said the team was continuing to work and was preparing the seventh episode, ending his message with the phrase “Yalan her şey!” in response to the rumors.
Kubilay Aka also shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set while the seventh episode was being filmed. His message told fans that they were working on episode 7 and that there was no reason to worry.
At the time, ATV and the production companies had not officially announced an ending. Reports suggested the series had an initial agreement for eight episodes, with its continuation depending on ratings.
Now, however, the latest Turkish reports say the decision has been made.
When Will Mercan Köşk End?
Mercan Köşk is currently scheduled to continue with its sixth episode on October 10. ATV’s official platform lists the sixth episode for Saturday, October 10, while the seventh episode is expected to serve as the finale.
The series will therefore have a short run compared with many Turkish dramas, ending only a few weeks after its September premiere.
For ATV, the decision adds to a difficult start to the new season, with several new projects facing early endings as broadcasters continue to closely monitor ratings and audience interest.
