Afra Saraçoğlu and Aras Bulut İynemli among 18 named in drug investigation

A new investigation involving several well-known Turkish celebrities has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with Afra Saraçoğlu and Aras Bulut İynemli among 18 people for whom detention orders were issued.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of a wider probe into drugs and stimulants. According to the prosecutor’s office, investigators found evidence supporting reasonable suspicion that some of the suspects may have used drugs, facilitated drug use or provided a place for drug use.
The allegations remain part of an ongoing investigation, and the detention orders do not establish criminal responsibility.
Celebrities Named in the Investigation
The names involved come from several parts of the entertainment and sports worlds.
Among those named are actors Aras Bulut İynemli, Afra Saraçoğlu, Melis Sezen, Nilperi Şahinkaya, Melisa Şenolsun and Hazal Filiz Küçükköse. Singer Sefo, former national footballer Hasan Şaş, content creator Melis İşiten, journalist and sports commentator Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, model Yeliz Yeşilçimen and singer Anıl Durmuş are also among the names reported in connection with the operation.
The prosecutor’s instructions reportedly included not only detention but also searches, biological examinations and the taking of statements before the suspects are brought before the prosecutor’s office.
Afra Saraçoğlu Responds
Afra Saraçoğlu was outside Turkey when news of the detention order emerged.
The actress said she was abroad because of a previously planned business trip and announced that she would return to Turkey as soon as possible to give her statement and cooperate with the judicial authorities.
Saraçoğlu also said she believed the truth would become clear during the process.
Her statement is significant because some early reports described her among those detained, while later coverage clarified that she was not in Turkey when the operation took place.
Aras Bulut İynemli Among Those Detained
Unlike Saraçoğlu, Aras Bulut İynemli was among the names reported as having been detained during the operation.
The actor is one of the most recognizable names connected to the investigation, making his inclusion particularly notable for Turkish television audiences.
Reports from Turkish media state that the operation was carried out by teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command following instructions from the Bakırköy prosecutor’s office.
Investigation Still Developing
The case is still unfolding, and the exact circumstances surrounding each individual are not yet publicly established.
The prosecutor’s office has described the evidence as supporting reasonable suspicion, while the people named in the investigation remain entitled to the presumption of innocence as the judicial process continues.
For Turkish entertainment fans, the investigation has already become one of the biggest stories of the day because of the number of recognizable names involved.
With statements, searches and biological examinations forming part of the process, further details are expected to emerge as the suspects give their accounts and the investigation moves forward.
