Apple reveals $130 iPhone Duo case

American tech giant Apple recently revealed its answer to Samsung’s Z Fold 8 Ultra with its all-new iPhone Duo, which received wide praise from tech enthusiasts and fans alike for its minimal crease, matte finish, IP68 rating, refined software, and more, despite its hefty $2,000 price tag.

Aside from its $2,000 price tag, which can go up to a whopping $3,200 for customers who want 2TB of storage, Apple also unveiled new cases for the iPhone Duo: the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand for $129 and the default case for $79.

According to Apple’s official website, the Duo Folio ships with a custom fabric called “TechWoven,” built-in magnets, and an integrated kickstand with a range of angles that snaps back into place when not needed. The case also supports MagSafe charging and a folio design to protect both the back and front of the phone. It also comes in two colors: Navy Blue and Taupe.

On the other hand, the $79 case fully protects the back of the iPhone Duo but fails to protect the front screen. It is made from polycarbonate with a matte coating.

A user wrote on social media, “I like this cover alot but I dont like the front cover also seems it doesn’t protect the phone sides.”

iPhone Duo specs

Apple’s first foldable device features a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch folding screen, both using Super Retina XDR OLED technology. The device is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance and has a Grade 5 titanium frame with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and back.

The device also ships with 12GB of RAM, several storage options (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB), a 48MP rear camera, and a 12MP under-display front camera without Face ID.

It also features a 4,883 mAh battery, which Apple promises will last up to 44 hours for outer display usage and up to 31 hours for video playback on the inner display, according to UK network provider Three. Customers can also choose between two colors: Star White and Night Sky.
