Earthquake of magnitude 5.0 strikes southwestern China

An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 struck the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan at 7:43 p.m. (11:43 GMT) on Tuesday, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.
Local residents in the epicenter, Mojiang county, said they felt a significant tremor, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Authorities have not yet received reports of casualties or property damage, Xinhua said.
