Can Yaman slams Erkenci Kuş producer Faruk Turgut after shocking interview

Can Yaman blasts producer Faruk Turgut after explosive interview remarks.
A new controversy has erupted between Turkish actor Can Yaman and veteran producer Faruk Turgut, reigniting tensions that date back several years.
The dispute began after Turgut, the founder and owner of Gold Film, appeared on an interview program hosted by journalist İzzet Çapa. During the conversation, Çapa asked the producer a direct question: “Would you work with Can Yaman again?”
Turgut’s answer was brief but clear. “No,” he replied.
The producer explained that although Erkenci Kuş (Early Bird) became one of the biggest Turkish television successes internationally, his experience working with Yaman was difficult. According to Turgut, the actor’s statements and behavior after achieving fame created problems, and he said he would not choose to collaborate with him again.
His comments quickly spread across Turkish media and social media platforms, becoming one of the most talked-about entertainment stories of the day.
It did not take long for Can Yaman to respond.
The actor, who has been pursuing an international career based mainly in Italy in recent years, published a lengthy statement on social media sharply criticizing the producer.
Can Yaman began his response with a sarcastic remark that immediately attracted attention.
“Oh dear, poor Faruk Turgut. If I had known, I would have sent flowers. Brain death has occurred. May God rest his soul.”
He then accused the producer of repeatedly trying to damage his career.
According to Can Yaman, Turgut had continued speaking negatively about him because he was upset that the actor later chose to work with Ay Yapım instead of Gold Film.
The actor also referred to previous industry rumors, claiming that Turgut had demanded 100,000 euros from Disney after losing him to another production company and had attempted to prevent Disney from collaborating with him. Yaman alleged that the producer convinced others that they had already reached an agreement, something the actor denied.
No evidence supporting those claims has been publicly presented, and Turgut has not responded to those specific allegations.
Can Yaman also defended the success of his recent international projects.
Responding to criticism surrounding El Turco, he said the historical drama had recently been sold in the United States and had become one of the most-watched series on the premium platform that acquired it in Spain.
He also highlighted the achievements of Sandokan, the international adventure series in which he plays the legendary pirate. According to Yaman, the production has received major recognition in Italy and continues attracting worldwide attention ahead of its broader international rollout.
Despite the controversy, Can Yaman insisted he has no regrets about how his career has developed.
“I’m so happy with where I’ve reached in my career that whatever harm you did, it’s a good thing you did it,” he wrote, suggesting that the challenges he faced ultimately helped him achieve greater international success.
A Relationship That Began With Erkenci Kuş

Can Yaman and Faruk Turgut formerly worked together on Erkenci Kuş, the romantic comedy that aired between 2018 and 2019.
Produced by Gold Film, the series paired Yaman with Demet Özdemir and became one of the most successful Turkish dramas of its generation. The show was sold to dozens of countries and helped transform both actors into internationally recognized stars, particularly across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Although the project launched Yaman’s global career, Turkish media have reported for years that disagreements between the actor and the producer emerged after the series ended.
Can Yaman’s Career Abroad
After leaving Türkiye, Yaman relocated to Italy, where he expanded his international career through television productions, advertising campaigns, and public appearances.
His recent projects include Viola Come il Mare, El Turco, and Sandokan, the latter considered one of the biggest international television productions involving a Turkish actor.
While neither Yaman nor Turgut appears willing to end their public disagreement, the latest exchange has once again placed their long-running dispute in the spotlight, becoming one of the most discussed stories in Turkish entertainment media.
