Strong earthquake strikes off Cuba’s northwest coast

An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck off the coast of Cuba on Monday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), GFZ added. There were no immediate reports of damages.

The US Geological Survey reported the earthquake at a 6.1 magnitude, with its epicenter 104 km west-northwest of Mantua, Cuba.

No tsunami warning or watch was issued after the earthquake, according to the US National Weather Service.
