Bahrain expels three lawmakers in parliament in row over royal decree

Bahrain’s parliament on Thursday expelled three MPs who opposed measures taken against sympathizers with Iran.
The Council of Representatives voted unanimously to expel Abdulnabi Salman, Mamdouh al-Saleh and Mahdi al-Showaikh – a decision made based on the constitution and the council’s internal regulations.
The request to expel their membership cited the three MPs’ criticism “of measures, [such as] revoking citizenships, taken against individuals accused of praising Iranian attacks” on the country.
