Unauthorized persons have taken control of cargo vessel off Somalia’s waters: UKMTO

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said late on Sunday that it had received reports that unauthorized persons had taken control of a cargo vessel that has been re-directed to the territorial waters of Somalia.

It said in a statement the incident occurred 6 nautical miles north east of Garacad, describing it as a hijack but giving no additional details.
