Israel’s military said it struck the Lebanese capital a short time ago in an attack targeting a Hezbollah “operative”.
The military did not say if its attack was successful or in which part of the city it was launched.

Israeli attack kills woman, wounds her husband in southern Lebanon
An Israeli attack has killed Ataf Moallem Sabra, a Lebanese woman from the Southern Lebanese town of Abba, Lebanon’s National News Agency is reporting.
Sabra’s husband was also wounded in the attack that targeted their family home, NNA added.
Iran’s parliament speaker asks why Americans ‘sacrificing their sons and daughters’
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has shared a post on social media mocking the US military after it said one of its refuelling planes had crashed in Iraq.
“American families deserve to know why Trump is sacrificing their sons and daughters to advance Netanyahu’s expansionist delusions,” Ghalibaf wrote in English.
He also included a hashtag referring to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a former associate of US President Donald Trump who also had ties to Israel’s intelligence service.

The spokesperson for Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry said that air defences have shot down four more drones over its eastern and central regions.
PM Netanyahu takes first questions from Israeli journalists since start of Iran war
Benjamin Netanyahu…was talking earlier, the first time in this conflict so far that he’s actually spoken in front of Israeli journalists and taken questions from them.
That’s been noticed recently. There have been newspaper articles saying, where is Benjamin Netanyahu? Why is he not speaking to us in the same way he has been speaking to US media? He went on Fox News and spoke to Sean Hannity earlier on in the conflict.
He used this opportunity to threaten the new leadership of Iran and to say that it was up to the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow the ayatollahs.
He talked about the situation in the north and the ongoing campaign on the ground in Lebanon saying that it might well be expanded north of the Litani River and he also dealt with domestic politics.

Woman and child killed in air strike on Arak, Iran
Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic report that a woman and a child were killed overnight during an Israeli air strike targeting a residential building in the city of Arak, western Iran.
The city’s deputy governor said that 35 other people were also injured in the attack.
