‘Doomsday clock’ moves closer to midnight, a year into Trump term

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that very good things are happening on negotiations aimed at ending Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Without providing details, Trump struck an optimistic tone to reporters as he departed the White House on a trip to Iowa. Russia and Ukraine negotiators met last weekend in Abu Dhabi for talks brokered by US officials.
