Trudeau and Katy Perry appear to make relationship official during Japan visit

Canada’s former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US singer Katy Perry have appeared to make their relationship official after joining former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, for lunch in Tokyo this week.

A photo posted by Kishida on X shows the two couples standing in front of a Christmas tree.

In his reply to his Japanese counterpart’s social media post, Trudeau seemingly speaks on behalf of both him and Perry.

“Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone,” he wrote.

The interaction is the closest thing to a confirmation about the duo’s relationship status since rumors began making the rounds in July, after they were spotted dining together at Le Violon, a local restaurant in Montreal’s Le Plateau neighborhood.

Photos of Trudeau and Perry holding hands in Tokyo have also gone viral, with social media users saying that the former Canadian prime minister is living his “best life.”

In response to Trudeau re-sharing Kishida’s post, one X user wrote: “This might be the craziest hard launch in the history of the free world.”

Following months of speculation, the visit to Japan marked the first time Perry accompanied Trudeau at a political meet.
