Pentagon chief summons generals to meeting next week: Report

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has ordered senior generals and admirals to meet at a Marine Corps base in Virginia next week, according to a report published on Thursday.
According to the report, citing people familiar with the matter, Hegseth has asked hundreds of generals who are commanding officers or enlisted advisors to attend.
The Washington Post, which reported on the planned meeting, stated that there are approximately 800 generals and admirals in the US and around the world.
Hegseth previously said there were too many high-ranking officers in the military and hinted that this number may be slashed.
Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed to The Post that Hegseth would be addressing his senior military leaders next week.
“Top commanders in conflict zones and senior military leaders stationed throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region are among those expected to attend Hegseth’s meeting,” people familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.
