MEP Rima Hassan warns France’s Macron on dangers to flotilla’s French nationals
Rima Hassan, a Franco-Palestinian Member of the European Parliament who is on board the flotilla, has addressed French President Emmanuel Macron following the early morning attacks on the aid ships sailing to Gaza.

Tagging Macron on his X profile, Hassan said: “Several dozen French nationals are present on board the flotilla! These attacks must stop!”

Hassan joined the flotilla in Tunisia. She was also on an earlier Gaza-bound aid boat, the Madleen, in June, which Israeli forces seized in international waters, detaining and forcibly bringing all crew and activists to Israel.

Hassan was later deported from Israel along with her colleagues.

Israel has barred Hassan from entering Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory, due to her support for boycotts of Israeli products and her activism on behalf of Palestinian human rights.
Israeli forces kill 29 Palestinians in Gaza
Israeli forces have killed at least 29 Palestinians in air attacks on the Gaza Strip since the early hours of this morning, medical sources have told our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic.

The dead include at least 17 people killed in an attack near a market in central Gaza City, according to a source at al-Ahli Arab Hospital.

As we’ve been reporting, the attacks on the Gaza Strip came as crew and activists on board the Sumud aid flotilla heading to Gaza reported being targeted by drones, which dropped flashbang devices and chemicals on the ships.
