Israel kills 72 in Gaza, Qatar forms ‘collective response’ to strikes

Israeli attacks across Gaza have killed more than 70 people so far today as the assault to capture Gaza City and force one million Palestinians from their homes continues.
Widespread global condemnation has erupted after Israel attacked Hamas’s senior leadership in the Qatari capital, Doha, as a US-proposed ceasefire was discussed for the war-battered Gaza Strip.
Israeli strike on Qatar demonstrates ‘double standard’ in international community
Middle East analyst Adam Shapiro says that Israel’s strike on Qatar is not likely to result in serious consequences, since Israeli violations of international law have become routine and rarely incurred consequences.

“By not asking or not informing the Americans early, Netanyahu could avoid getting a ‘no’ and then just deal with the consequences after. Israel has consistently been rewarded for dealing with consequences after its attacks or its actions with a double standard in the international community,” he said.
