Mohamed Ramadan responds to belly dancer outfit controversy

Amid sparking outrage and controversy on social media due to his “belly dancer” inspired outfit during Coachella 2025, Egyptian star Mohamed Ramadan took to his official Facebook account to respond, only for his post to get deleted seconds later.
As always, it’s difficult to hide what has already been posted on the internet. Fans and media outlets were quick to screenshot Ramadan’s Facebook post and swarmed several social media platforms with it.
In the post in question, Mohamed Ramadan, who is known as “Number One,” didn’t target his fans, but instead took jabs at an Israeli media outlet that judged the Egyptian star for his controversial outfit.

He wrote, “In response to Israeli media… My outfit in Coachella was designed by an Egyptian designer (Farida Temraz), and the vest was inspired by the statues of the pharaohs, and I designed it with Egyptian silver currency and added a black pharaonic cape to it.”
He added further, “Just one question… did the Egyptian flag waving in Coachella make you this angry?”
The star appeared wearing an outfit allegedly made out of gold, resembling clothes a belly dancer would wear. As always, Ramadan confidently carried himself during the live performance, but Egyptian fans were quick to notice his bizarre dance moves, which they compared to a belly dancer as well.
Mohamed Ramadan started swaying his hips left to right, a dance move usually performed by women in the Arab region. Moreover, wearing an outfit made of gold didn’t help his case either, since men are prohibited from wearing gold in Islam. An Instagram user mocked Ramadan and wrote, “Haha, does he think that he’s Myriam Fares or Shakira?”
Another wrote, “What is this… a belly dancer outfit?! What is happening… oh God.”
