Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli airstrikes in Syria, urges UN to take action

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on Syrian territory, calling it a “flagrant violation of international law” and urging the United Nations Security Council to take action.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom denounced the attacks, saying they were part of repeated Israeli violations that threaten regional security and stability.
Riyadh called for an international response to prevent further escalation and ensure accountability.
The condemnation came just hours after security sources in Syria reported that Israeli jets bombed military fortifications in the villages of Shinshar and Shamsin, south of Homs city.
The Israeli military has not commented on the latest strikes but has previously acknowledged targeting military positions in Syria, claiming they housed weapons and military equipment.
There has been a surge in Israeli operations in Syria, with the most recent strike in the southern province of Daraa killing at least two people and injuring 19, according to local reports. Israel has been conducting air raids on Syrian military bases for years, citing threats posed by Iran-backed groups operating in the country.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its solidarity with the Syrian government and its people and urged the United Nation Security Council member states to take a “firm and serious” stance against Israeli aggression.
The Kingdom also emphasized the need to prevent further conflict expansion in the region and called for mechanisms to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
