Is Christopher Nolan directing the next James Bond movie?

New reports indicate that renowned British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan is reportedly Amazon’s first choice for directing the next James Bond movie after the big corporation acquired the popular action franchise.

According to The Wrap, A “top franchise producer” claimed that Amazon might’ve already contacted Nolan to direct the next James Bond movie. The unnamed individual stated further that there’s a “strong mutual desire to make it happen.”

Additionally, debate and speculations swarmed social media about Amazon also reportedly giving Christopher Nolan a blank check for full creative control and a final cut edition. It’s important to note that all claims remain unconfirmed.

A fan of the franchise wrote on Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter), “I don’t think this is a bold take or anything but: if Christopher Nolan is offered James Bond, a blank checkbook from Amazon, and final cut, there’s a 100% chance he makes at least one and probably three James Bond movies.”

Another added, “I don’t know if people understand how glorious a Nolan-directed James Bond could be.”

According to World of Reel, Nolan has long expressed his desire to direct a Bond movie and also revealed that he’s a big fan of the franchise. He said during the Happy Sad Confused podcast in July 2023, “The influence of those movies in my filmography is embarrassingly apparent.”

He stated further, “And so there’s no attempt to shy away from that. I love the films. You know, it would be an amazing privilege to do one. You wouldn’t want to take on a film not fully committed to what you bring to the table creatively. So as a writer, casting, everything, it’s a full package.”

Years back, Amazon/ MGM and Nolan were in talks of making a new James Bond movie but the conversation eventually led to nowhere.

Moreover, the former owner of the Bond franchise, Barbara Broccoli was also in the talks with Nolan about directing a James Bond movie but creative differences also set them apart.
