Saudi King, Crown Prince congratulate Trump on US election victory

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump for winning the US presidential election.

King Salman and MBS sent separate cables congratulating Trump, who returns to the White House after defeating Democrat candidate Kamala Harris.

In a cable sent to Trump, King Salman also praised the “historically close [bilateral] relations that everyone seeks to strengthen and develop in all fields.”

Trump has cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency ending an electoral campaign against Vice President Harris, who only entered the race in July after President Joe Biden dropped out.
