MrBeast climbs Burj Khalifa amid controversy, video goes viral

YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as Mr. Beast, climbed Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

A video of him at the top is going viral on social media. “I made it! In the clip, you can hear the YouTuber saying, “I am standing on top of the tallest building in the world.”

“This is terrifying! I shouldn’t have looked down; that’s scary,” he added.

People who have previously scaled the tallest building in the world are Tom Cruise, Sheikh Hamdan, Nicole Smith-Ludvik, Will Smith, Sam Sunderland, Alain Robert, and Alexis Landot.

Days after facing a plethora of allegations, including workplace misconduct and brand controversy, the richest YouTuber pulled off the stunt.

Mr. Beast responded to the allegations, saying that “the company knowingly employing individuals with proclivities or histories toward illegal or questionable legal conduct” was “without basis.”

On Friday, Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, tweeted the results of a three-month inquiry into claims regarding his company’s “workplace environment and culture,” as well as specific allegations against current and former workers.

Donaldson forwarded an email from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, which concluded that allegations of sexual misconduct “between company employees and minors” and “allegations of the company knowingly employing individuals with proclivities or histories toward illegal or questionable legal conduct” are “without basis.” Alex Spiro, the primary attorney in New York Mayor Eric Adams’ ongoing federal corruption investigation, signs the letter. The legal firm said in a statement that they had “nothing at the moment” to offer.

The probe concluded after a turbulent summer for Donaldson, who operates YouTube’s most popular channel. On July 24, Donaldson revealed on Twitter that he and his firm had terminated connections with Ava Kris Tyson, his channel’s second-in-command since its start in 2012, after claims of improper discussions she had with children, including her Discord moderator LavaGS. Days later, Tyson’s former executive assistant, Jess, alleged in a now-deleted thread that the founder had “sexually assaulted” her, using her position inside the firm to demand sexual favors. Jess also said that Tyson halted their working connection after she refused to indulge in sexual favors with the MrBeast star. Tyson refuted any claims of grooming or sexual misconduct in a July 23 post on X, saying, “I humbly apologize to anyone I have hurt with my unacceptable social media posts and past actions, as well as to those who may feel betrayed by how I used to act online.” At the time, Tyson did not respond to Rolling Stone or to a request for comment on the investigation’s findings.
