Amr Diab unveils bold new look at sold-out new Alamein Festival concert

Amr Diab, an Egyptian singer with a very young appearance, seemed to play a massive performance on Friday as part of the events of the second New Alamein Festival, drawing in a massive crowd.

As soon as the owner of “Ya Ana Ya La” took the stage, he shocked his audience with a new appearance—yellow hair, a mustache, and a short black beard—while wearing pants and a shirt. The crowd cheered enthusiastically and connected with him immediately.

Following a humorous aside about “Let’s bring back the old fitness songs,” Amr Diab congratulated the Saudi Entertainment Authority and the production business, United Media Services, for putting on the performance.

Jana and Kenzi, his children, and Abdullah, his son, were present in the crowd for the performance.

Amr Diab sang a varied set of his signature songs for over two hours, beginning with his most renowned hit “Ya Ana Ya La” before moving on to a phase when he sang both old and new songs chosen by the crowd.

At the El Alamein Festival concert, one of the biggest surprises was hearing Amr Diab play the piano version of his hit song “Ent El Haz.” Diab also played a plethora of his older songs from the ’90s and ’00s, including the audience-pleasing “Qamreen.”

The concert organizer announced that all tickets had sold out several hours before the concert began, following a month-long promotional campaign that offered tickets in various categories. This included the “cabin” tickets, which had risen in price to one million pounds.

Amr Diab’s concert is one of the artistic works in which the United Company, as the El Alamein Festival’s organizer, collaborates with the Saudi General Entertainment Authority. The two organizations have agreements to re-present plays that were part of the El Alamein Festival’s “Riyadh Season” events, as well as to organize joint concerts, such as the second week’s performance by artist Kazem El Saher.

As a result of his debut with his new “look” during his most recent performance in Riyadh, as part of the Kingdom’s tour at the Mohammed Abdo Theater, “Al-Hadaba” dominated the July “trend” on social media.
