Olivia Munn and John Mulaney celebrate intimate New York wedding amid cancer battle
It is only fitting that Olivia Munn and John Mulaney receive congratulations.
People and TMZ report that the 41-year-old comedian from “New in Town” and the 44-year-old actor from “X-Men: Apocalypse” tied the knot in New York over the weekend. On Wednesday, representatives for Munn and Waterston’s “The Newsroom” co-star, Sam Waterston, confirmed to USA TODAY that Waterston was the officiant.
People, who broke the story first, reported that the couple’s 2-year-old son Malcolm and a witness were the only guests at the intimate ceremony, which took place at a friend’s house.
Malcolm was born to the happy couple in November of 2021; thus, it’s been almost two years since their wedding.
Munn revealed her “terrifying” breast cancer diagnosis in March, four months ago, and now this news arrives.
The actress who starred in X-Men: Apocalypse suffered from luminal B, a kind of severe breast cancer, in both of her breasts in 2023. This diagnosis shocked her.
In April, she spoke to people about how cancer doesn’t care about their identity, whether they’re pregnant or not, or if they have enough time. The only way to handle it is to face it when it comes.

Last autumn, Munn had reconstructive surgery after a double mastectomy. She had a hysterectomy in April 2024 and four further procedures in a 10-month period.
In a May interview with Vogue, Mulaney complimented Munn on her strength.
The two of them had gone through a lot together over the last many years, he told the outlet. Standing by one another’s sides, we can go through anything. Being her boyfriend made me feel a mix of fear and protectiveness. She would still have to physically battle this illness on her own, even with Malcolm on her lap and me holding her hand.
