Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez: headed for divorce amid relationship struggles

News sources in the United States verified that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had hit a breaking point. He departed their joint home.

Ben Affleck did not attend the Met Gala with his wife Jennifer Lopez on May 6 and it was reported at the time that he was busy filming the second part of the movie The Accountant, but sources close to the two stars said that Ben “decided to end his marriage to Jennifer.” The in Touch website reported that the pair had been spending their time apart in recent weeks.

The sources said, “Ben is now concentrating on his children and his career. He has moved out of the ideal house he and Jennifer Lopez looked for for over two years. Love will never fade between them, but Ben cannot alter Jennifer or vice versa. They cannot thus remain together.”

The disparate approaches the two handle the spotlight are what the sources revealed to be the issue in their relationship. Ben avoids the media but Jennifer is much interested in it.

“I told Jennifer that I didn’t want to have a relationship with social media, and then I kind of realized that wasn’t fair,” Affleck acknowledged in the documentary “Jlo The Greatest Love Story Never Told.” “It’s like you’re going to marry a ship captain and say, ‘Okay, I don’t want the water, but we’re trying to work it out.'”

Jennifer also responded in same vein, saying, “I don’t think Ben is very comfortable with my relationship with social media, but he doesn’t want to stop me.”

“Ben never sought to squelch Jennifer’s goals or push her not to do anything that might promote her profession,” the sources added in reference to this matter.

Jennifer and Ben had a notable romance in the early 2000s, but they called it quits on their wedding in 2003. They stayed together until January 2004, when they officially ended their relationship. After reconciling in 2021, they finally tied the knot in July 2022.
