Photos: Palestinians in Gaza prepare for Ramadan
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip are preparing for a somber start amidst ongoing fears of an Israeli offensive.
Displaced from their homes, many families have set up makeshift tented camps in Rafah, southern Gaza, where they will observe the month-long period of fasting and prayer.
Despite the grim circumstances, displaced Gazans are trying to uphold traditions by decorating their tents. Children can be seen waving Ramadan lanterns, while others sing songs and hang balloons, attempting to maintain a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos.
The toll of the conflict has been devastating. Gaza’s health authorities have reported nearly 31,000 Palestinian fatalities, with countless more injured and displaced. The ongoing offensive has left much of the territory in ruins, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis.
