In a follow-up video, Pandey confessed to her followers that her death had indeed been a hoax and that she was faking her death, but defended her actions by highlighting the increased awareness surrounding cervical cancer that her stunt had generated.
While some praised Pandey for shedding light on an important issue, many weren’t happy with her for resorting to such extreme measures for attention. Critics labeled her behavior as unethical and manipulative, warning that future serious announcements from Pandey may not be taken seriously.
