Succession star Brian Cox reads poem by Palestinian poet
Scottish actor Brian Cox, best known for starring in the beloved drama series, Succession with his legendary role as Logan Roy took to social media platforms to read a poem by a Palestinian who was killed on Dec. 7, 2023 by an Israeli airstrike.
The poem in question is called “If I Must Die” by the beloved Palestinian poet and teacher Refaat Alareer which was the last poem he published before being killed by the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.

The poem was written on Nov. 1, 2023, by Refaat, Brian quoted the poet in a video in solidarity with the Palestinian people and the killing of Refaat Alareer. By the time of writing this article, more than 18,200 Gazans had been killed in the ongoing attacks by Israeli forces including women, children, and the elderly with more than 50,000 being injured.
Several X users (formerly Twitter) also commented on the post embedded above remembering the beloved poet and thanking Brian Cox for his stance with the Palestinian people.

According to a user who commented on the post, Both Refaar and his family’s bodies are still buried under the rubble that was caused by Israeli airstrikes adding that Israel “won’t give access to the area” making it “rage-inducing” as he failed him since he couldn’t give him and his family the respect they deserve.
