Could Rebel Moon by Zack Snyder top Star Wars?

 Netflix has recently announced a trailer showcasing its upcoming big-budget sci-fi movie called Rebel Moon: Part One: A Child of Fire directed by the legendary filmmaker, Zack Snyder!

American director, Zak Snyder is behind movies such as 300, Man of Steel, Suicide Squad, The Justice League, and more. Netflix confirmed that the Rebel Moon movies will consist of two parts with the first coming on Dec. 15, 2023.

By the time of writing this article, the trailer has garnered more than a whopping five million views topping almost everything Netflix showcased in its GEEKED WEEK 23′.

This is Zack Snyder’s answer to the Star Wars saga

Many fans took to social media platforms and voiced their opinion on the new trailer as it reminded them of many movies from the Star Wars saga. In our opinion, it gives off Rogue One and Andor vibes because of its color palette and storyline.

Rebel One tells the story of a young woman with a mysterious past who is tasked with seeking out warriors from neighboring planets after a colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius.

According to Variety, Zack Snyder wrote a 172-page script and concluded with Netflix that the movie would consist of two parts.

He also added that Rebel One will have a director’s cut similar to DC’s Justice League movie but will be strictly for adults.

Snyder added about the director’s cut version:

“I think for fans of mine and people who are ready to take a deeper, harder dive, that’ll be fun for them.”

Before hitting Netflix’s streaming platform, Rebel Moon: Part One: A Child of Fire will play in Los Angeles’s Egyptian Theatre, New York City’s Paris Theater, Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox, and London’s Prince Charles Cinema.
