US finalising narrow rules limiting some tech exports to rivals

The administration of United States President Donald Trump is finalising a set of narrow rules to limit exports of sophisticated technology to adversaries like China, a document seen by Reuters News Agency shows.
The limited criteria should be a boon to US industries that had feared a much broader crackdown on sales abroad.
The US Department of Commerce is putting the finishing touches on five rules covering products such as quantum computing and 3D printing technologies that were mandated by a 2018 law to keep sensitive technologies out of the hands of rival powers.
