Oman: Migratory Gray Heron Rescued in Oil Company Water Basin

A gray heron was found in one of the water basins associated with the Daleel oil company in the wilayat of Ibri.

A statement issued online by the Environment Authority (EA), said: “Thanks to the employees of Daleel Oil Company in the area of Masruq in the wilayat of Ibri for saving the gray heron, which was found in one of the water basins associated with the company’s oil project. It was handed over to the Environment Department in Al Dhahirah Governorate to take care of its health condition so that it can then continue its migration.”

“The gray heron is one of the migratory birds that visit the Sultanate in the month of September for food and rest, and then return to its journey around the world,” the statement added.
