Rapper, entrepreneur and Kim Kardashian’s former lover Ray J spent an afternoon with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago headquarters this week, according to photograph’s posted on social media.
The meeting was set up by pastor Darrell Scott, a member of Trump’s executive transition team, who shared the images.
He said they went to the former president’s Florida resort to discuss business, technology and black empowerment.
Trump, 75, and the ‘Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood’ star have a follow-up meeting arranged to discuss how to put the plans into action, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
Ray J told the newspaper: ‘I’ve always admired and respected his business acumen.
‘Our conversation was about job creation, encouraging small business development, and how information technology plays an important role in the future of our economy.
‘We also agree how important an educated workforce is, as well as the critical need for the development of young people.
‘I’m ready to get started now.’
It is not the first time he has been linked with Trump.
Last year he was forced to deny rumors that he was talking to the then president about pardoning rapper Suge Knight, sentenced to 28 years in prison for manslaughter after running over two men at a fast-food drive-through.
In the same interview he hinted at political aspirations – or at least being engaged in the political process.
‘It’s definitely a different kind of election coming up,’ he told Variety in January 2020.
‘It’s something very original with this one. The choices people have to pick from… we’ll see. It’s just a different dynamic now, but all for the greater good.’
But he also played down the importance of Trump’s first impeachment, saying there were more important things.
‘I just figure we need to stick with trying to fix what’s broken in America, like the bigger topics of things,’ he said.
‘Try to really put our focus on change and helping people, and really try to do good for the country.’
The ‘One Wish’ singer has also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.
But he might be best known for being Kim Kardashian’s co-star in a 2007 leaked sex tape.
This week he denied persistent rumors of a second tape.
‘The claim that there is an unreleased sex tape is unequivocally false,’ he told Us Weekly in a statement.
‘It is unfortunate that people make these statements to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.’
The story resurfaced recently after Kardashian’s estranged husband, Kanye West, claimed that he once had a copy.
