France’s Macron: No aid given to Lebanon without a government capable of reform

French President Macron said on Wednesday evening during the International Conference in Support of Beirut that Lebanese politicians must form a government to implement reforms, otherwise international aid will not be provided.

“I will return to Lebanon in December to put pressure on the political class,” said the French president.

France and the International community will not give up on the necessity for reforms and investigations in the Beirut port, he added.

Macron elaborated that a fund managed by the World Bank will be established to oversee the provision of humanitarian aid to Lebanon.
