Coronavirus: Oman records five new deaths as confirmed cases surpass 15,000

Oman recorded five new coronavirus deaths and 770 new infections, which brings the virus-related death toll in the country to 71 and the total number of confirmed cases to 15,086, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday.

Out of the newly reported cases, 343 were detected in Omani citizens and 427 in non-Omani expatriates.

A total of 3,451 people have recovered from the virus in Oman so far, according to the ministry.

The ministry urged people to adhere to preventative measures in order to combat the outbreak.
