Ariana Grande to Perform at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards

Ariana Grande will be performing at the upcoming 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
‘see you jan 26 #GRAMMYs @cbstv @recordingacademy,’ the Sweetener star wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday along with a photo of herself that also read ‘GRAMMY PERFORMER.’
The pop superstar broke the news about performing on her social media accounts right before the Grammys made the announcement official on its platforms.
There had been some worry about whether Grande would make an appearance at the ceremony.
Last year she backed out of performing on the show just days before the broadcast, when she and producers disagreed on the song to play.
An insider told Variety that the singer felt ‘insulted’ when producers refused to allow her to perform 7 Rings, which is up for 2020 Record Of The Year.
A compromise was reached where show organizers agreed to 7 Rings as part of a medley, but Grande pulled out when they insisted they choose the second song.
It could turn out to a busy night for Grande considering she’s been nominated in five categories that includes Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Thank U, Next.
The Florida native, 26, joins previously announced performers Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Aerosmith, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, and Alicia Keys, who’s returning as host for the second straight year.
Lizzo received the most nominations of any artist with eight, followed by Eilish and Lil Nas X with six each.
Aerosmith is being honored as MusiCares Person of the Year for their philanthropic efforts over the course of their legendary five-decade career.
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
